Letter from the Superintendent
My name is Steve Glenn and I have been proud to serve Tipton Public Schools since the 1992 - 1993 school year with my first year as Superintendent being 2017 - 2018 school year. I was raised in Altus but grew up on a farm around the Hess and Elmer area and graduated from Altus High School. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Cameron University. I obtained my Masters Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University and currently I am studying for an advanced Masters Degree in Education Administration from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
I have 4 children. My son Landon is in the oil field business with Helmerich and Payne in Tulsa, Oklahoma and he and his wife Jennifer have a new baby girl Kennedy. Kennedy is my first grandchild and will be spoiled accordingly. My son Logan is a Surgical Recovery Coordinator with Life Share in Oklahoma City and lives in Norman, Oklahoma. My other two sons, Jace and James live with me in Altus and are enrolled in Tipton Schools and do all the typical things students do in and out of school.
I was originally hired to be the high school mathematics teacher. During my time here, I have held numerous titles and positions such as Assistant Football Coach, summer maintenance and lawn care, Building Construction, Director of Alternative Education, and High School Principal to name a few. Although I live in Altus now and have only lived in Tipton for a total of seven years, Tipton is my home. I have been blessed with many opportunities and responsibilities at Tipton Public Schools and owe a debt of gratitude to the Board of Education, Faculty and Staff for allowing me to help and serve them as a Superintendent and educator.
